I'm back

This is my first post since march. This is a poor effort by me, and I'm sure the legions of readers of this blog have been devastated :) Never fear I will try to be more diligent and try to rant about Jesus some more. Some interesting developments in bullet form of the last 3.5 months.
- I was a warehouse and distribution manager for the salvos during the fires
- I turned 31
- Isabella is now 18 months old
- My brother and his beautiful wife had another bub, Stella.
- I finished my post grad dip in international health and will embark on a doctorate of the same course
- I wrote a 35 page proposal to the Department of Human Services for the start of a drug and alcohol day program in Bendigo to replace Overdale which burnt down
- I have been questioning my officership
- I discovered that power and bullying is a worrisome part of salvation army culture

Anyway more on stuff in the near future

  1. Nice work (on being back)!

And a very big Congratulations on completing your grad dip and commencing doctorate studies. I will look forward to calling you 'Doctor', but in the meantime would be happy to just call you Troy, with a string of letters after your name, if you can phonetically write them down for me. :)

All jokes aside, I have been meaning to get in touch with you for ages (no BJJ pun intended).

I was wanting to know if you and Peta are still vegetarian, and if Isabella is too?
I've been doing a lot of research on vegetarian nutrition, including specifically for babies, and thought you may have gone down that track already.

And before closing, I've got to say that I feel some of your pain with questioning your officership. Will chat some time about it, but hope you guys hang in there, 'cause you're great.

    Hope to see you soon.

    Jah bless,
    Andrew

  2. Hi Troy, working backwards I am. :) Something I forgot to mention on the post where you stated your belief that the creation stories are not to be taken literally. I meant to point out to you then that this means you hold a different doctrine to the one that goes something like (forgive my memory it is a long time since such things were actively remembered by me) we believe our original parents were created in a state of innocence and then fell....... that doctrine, if you read it's full text, is clearly literalist and creationist. You are neither.
The logical conclusion of that is, revert to being a literalist and a creationist or remove yourself from an institution that requires doctrinal agreement from you, which you cannot ethically give. The gap is only going to get bigger (Doom I say..Doooooom.) as you become more and more your true self.
